Sinks often develop unsightly stains, with limescale being particularly difficult to remove. This trick will help your sink stay sparkling for longer.
Chrome steel in the kitchen is a mixed blessing. It gives the room a professional and timeless look that never goes out of fashion. However, it is a challenge to keep it spotless and blemish-free. The sink ages quickly if it is not cleaned daily. Dirt and water stains quickly set in. Even repeated rinsing does not help.
But we do know a trick that can prevent this: rub the sink with oil! This can be baby, olive or sunflower oil – or whatever you have to hand or in your pantry. Just a small dash is enough to make chrome steel clean and shiny again.
This is how it works
Clean the stainless steel sink thoroughly with a conventional cleaning agent or with vinegar and baking soda; this helps with stubborn water and dirt stains. Rinse the sink and dry it thoroughly. Then add one or two squirts of oil to the sink and rub and polish everything with a dry microfiber cloth. Don’t forget the fittings.
And the best thing is: water spots will now bead up and roll off. Incidentally, the oil method also works wonders for black granite or other dark stone in the sink.
