Due to continuous contact with the surface of the ground outside and the material, these tend to be more dirty than other conventional footwear. Daily household chores do not only involve taking care of the house to maintain its well-being. They also require attending to other types of tasks corresponding to the washing and protection of other elements and utensils that we use on a continuous basis. The laundry is one of the most representative examples of the whole issue.
Specifically, footwear is one of the items that accumulates the most dirt due to constant contact with the ground outside. This can be accentuated with respect to some of the materials from which they are made, with slippers made of fabric and canvas being the perfect target for the excessive accumulation of residue to end up deteriorating them and rendering them useless.
For this kind of situation, there are home remedies that, with just a few ingredients that most users have at home, can remove any stain and give these shoes a second life with a totally renewed look. On the other hand, they will also mean savings in our pockets by not resorting to overly specific cleaning products.
Clean cloth shoes
Starting with the cleaning of our cloth slippers, we will remove dust and surface debris using a dry brush. This will prevent us from contaminating the water we will use later. This will be mixed with neutral soap, to which a small dose of baking soda and another of white vinegar can be added to remove complex stains. If you have colored shoes, a suitable detergent can also be a valid alternative.
Once the cleaning solution is prepared, we will use a brush to gently rub it on the areas most affected by dirt. In this sense, we should not exert much pressure towards the fabric, so as not to generate imperfections and damage to its surface. Ideally, rub the mixture in circles gently to cover as much space as possible.
Finally, we will rinse the footwear with a cloth of clean water and remove any soap scum and residue that may have remained on the surface. All that remains is to dry the shoes properly, so we will leave them to rest in a well-ventilated place with little exposure to direct sunlight so that they are ready for use again.
